Earthquakes and Natural Disasters
Campers will learn about earthquakes and other natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, thunderstorms, and wildfires, why they happen and what scientists do to reduce their effects. Kids will learn how buildings can withstand the shake, rattle and roll of earthquakes. This is the ideal camp for those who dream of becoming architects or engineers or who just have a love of building and design. Children will learn basic concepts in earthquake engineering and structural dynamics, including concepts to design structures that can resist strong ground shaking caused by earthquakes.
Participants must be 5 years to 8 years old when the program starts.
